The Department of Management of the University of Bologna invites applications for admission to a PhD programme in General Management. Positions are available per 1 October 2012.

DESCRIPTION: Applications are invited for 3 PhD positions in General Management which is organized in two tracks:
- Management
- Banking and Finance

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Management was founded in 1983 and involves over sixty five full time researchers and fifteen assistant researchers in nine research areas. The research areas are: Corporate finance, Financial institution management, Management accounting, Financial accounting and accountability, Management and innovation of arts organization, Management of technology and innovation, Marketing, Organization studies, and Strategic management. The Department has distinctive capabilities in the study of entrepreneurship, SMEs, industrial clusters and networks of firms, consumer behaviour, distribution channel management, innovation management, academic spin-offs and technology transfer.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: More than 100,000 students are enrolled at the University of Bologna, making our University one of the largest in Italy with 143 first cycle degree courses, 98 second cycle degree courses, 90 Master degree courses, 9 European specialization courses, and 10 PhD programmes. Some 13,000 students carry out a period of training in the working world each year. The number of foreign students regularly enrolled is 3600, while another 1500 arrive every year on international mobility programmes such as Erasmus and Overseas.
