The School has been established relatively recently and is on course to quickly become a world-class player that is competitive with the best business schools. The finance group aims to become one of the five top finance groups in Europe. Achieving this requires a significant growth in faculty numbers.

The Group's research includes a number of areas in finance, including derivative pricing, capital markets, credit risk modelling, hedge funds, risk management and financial econometrics, while in corporate finance there is a focus on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital. Group members publish regularly in top journals, produce research with high impact, and attend the major finance conferences every year.

In addition to our established MSc in Finance, the Finance Group also runs an MSc in Risk Management & Financial Engineering, an MSc in Actuarial Finance, and an active PhD programme. Members of the Group also teach on our successful full time and executive MBA programmes and on other Business School MSc programmes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants are expected to be outstanding scholars with proven research excellence. Applicants for positions as Assistant Professors will have either a proven publication record in top academic journals or be en route to publish innovative, rigorous, and relevant contributions in such journals. Any candidate for an Associate Professor or a full Professor position should have several publications in journals included in the list of the Financial Times 45 top journals and to have produced research with a high impact. They should also be collegial and have excellent teaching skills. A PhD (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject area is also a pre-requisite.
