Assistant Professor of Finance

The Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies at The University of Alabama invites applications for an assistant professor, tenure-track position in finance beginning August 16, 2013.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applications are invited from candidates who will have completed their Ph.D. by August 2013. Salary is competitive. Primary duties will include teaching, engaging in a research program that results in published articles in outstanding scholarly publications and performing service as assigned by the Department, College and University. Candidates with experience must have a record of publishing in high-quality journals and demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The finance program offers degrees at the undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. levels. The Masters programs include a full-time MBA, a weekend MBA program for executives, and a one-year MS in Finance. The department offers an excellent research environment including generous travel support, an active seminar series and Ph.D. graduate research assistants. Departmental faculty have published in many of the top finance journals including JF, JFE, RFS and JFQA, as well as top economics journals including AER, JPE, Econometrica, JET and the Journal of Law and Economics. The College has state-of-the art facilities for both teaching and research including multimedia classrooms, subscriptions to WRDS and other databases.
