Applied Economics Position

The School of Economics and Finance (SEF) seeks to appoint at the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer level in Applied Labour and Health Economics. We are interested in individuals who are able and willing to teach in the core applied areas of economics. All areas of research specialisation within applied economics, labour, and health will be considered. The appointment is with tenure.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: PhD with specialisation in Economics. Candidates should have an excellent teaching and research record for their level of experience. An active research record is essential and publication record commensurate with experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY: The appointee will be an active researcher in their field leading to quality refereed publications and be committed to quality research and teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. The university provides excellent support for faculty research. Service to the university and the profession is also expected.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL AND THE FACULTY: School of Economics and Finance (SEF) is located in the Victoria Business School (Faculty of Commerce). The Faculty is home to about 5,000 students and the School is one of the largest in the Faculty, providing undergraduate as well as graduate Honours, Masters, and PhD degree programs. The Faculty has the distinction of holding the 'triple crown' accreditations of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. The Faculty has very strong links with research, business, government and financial institutions in Wellington and wider New Zealand, and provides a lively research environment.
