Post-doctoral Research Fellows and PhD-candidates in Managerial Accounting

The Institute of Accounting (Institut fur Unternehmensrechnung und Controlling - IUC), Managerial Accounting Section (Prof. Dr. Markus C. Arnold) at the University of Bern invites applications for post-doctoral research fellows and PhD candidates in Managerial Accounting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have earned a master degree in Accounting or a related field (Management, Finance, Economics) at the start of the employment. All areas of accounting will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with research interests related to managerial accounting. Expectations include strong quantitative skills either in applied game theory, experimental research methods, or econometrics. Knowledge in agency theory and institutional economics as well as the willingness to conduct experimental research are desired. A commitment to high-quality research and the propensity to interact with master students is indispensable. An excel-lent command of English in writing and oral presentations is necessary; a good command of the German language is welcome. Salary is very competitive and depends on the candidate's quali-fication. Starting date: October 2012 or to be agreed.
