Assistant Professor of Accounting

The College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Accounting.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Capable of teaching financial accounting, managerial accounting and information system courses for undergraduate and graduate accounting students; publish and present research in accounting, auditing and related areas; provide service to the accounting department and the College of Business and Economics (CBE) and engage in other activities consistent with our mission and goals.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Accounting. Candidates must be able and willing to teach financial accounting, managerial accounting and information system courses both at the undergraduate (introductory and advanced) and graduate levels, publish related academic research, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and work in a team environment with a collegial attitude. Candidates' strengths and professional portfolio must complement current accounting faculty's teaching and research make-up of the accounting department and support the mission of the department, the CBE, and the University.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Candidates with Ph.D. will be considered for a nine-month, full-time tenure-track appointment. Initial contract is for two years with bi-annual reviews for reappointment. Lehigh's promotion and tenure criteria are "excellence in teaching, research and service." Candidates near completion or ABD at the time of starting at Lehigh will be considered for an Instructor or a visiting appointment in a one-year, non-tenure track position with their position converting to tenure-track per University rules upon receipt of Ph.D. degree. Salary and benefits are competitive.
