2013 UTS Australian Summer Accounting Symposium

7-8 February 2013, Sydney, Australia

The 16th annual Australian Summer Accounting Symposium will be held at the University of Technology, Sydney on 7-8 February 2013. The 2013 Summer Accounting Symposium will comprise a key-note address and approximately 8 paper presentations. The key note speaker for 2013 will be Professor Stephen Penman, Columbia University. In 2013 each paper presentation will be followed by an invited discussant. The Symposium regularly attracts leading accounting researchers from around the world, and presenters including faculty from leading institutions in North America, Europe and Asia. The Accounting Discipline Group at UTS is committed to ensuring that the Australian Summer Accounting Symposium continues as the premier event of its type in the Australasian region.

ABOUT THE AREA: UTS Business School is located at the southern fringe of Sydney's central business district, adjacent to the Darling Harbour tourist precinct. It is close to a wide variety of hotel and apartment accommodation, as well as excellent public transport access to beaches and other tourist attractions.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Those interested in presenting a paper are encouraged to submit their work as soon as possible, but no later than 15 October 2012. Authors of selected papers will be advised no later than 15 November. Papers are invited in any area of accounting. Early submissions are encouraged.

FUNDING: The UTS Accounting Discipline Group will provide financial support for presenters of selected papers. This support will typically cover a return economy airfare from their home city to Sydney, Australia and three nights' accommodation.
