US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) Economic Research Paper Series

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Economic Research Paper Series allows Office of Chief Economist (OCE) staff, affiliated scholars, and their coauthors to disseminate research findings on a variety of intellectual property (IP) related topics. The USPTO Economic Working Papers present findings in a timely manner in order to stimulate discussion, scholarly debate, and critical comment. These papers represent ongoing empirical analyses and are subject to revision. The USPTO Reports presents research findings on policy questions in plain language writing tailored to IP policymakers and USPTO stakeholders. While these reports are from OCE, additional USPTO reports may be found at www.uspto.gov.
