OCC economists produce original research on a broad range of topics relevant to the OCC mission including safety and soundness, bank supervision and regulation, fair access, and consumer protection. The working papers are considered preliminary and are being shared to stimulate discussion and feedback. The working papers are often presented at conferences and many of the papers are later published in peer-reviewed journals. The analysis, conclusions, and opinions set forth are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of the OCC nor the Department of Treasury.
