Max Planck Institute for Social Law & Social Policy Research Paper Series

The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy undertakes research on social questions in an international context from a legal and political perspective. Its main foci are pressing issues of our time: the modernisation of social protection systems; the consequences of globalisation; and digitalisation - to name but a few. The Institute is part of the Max Planck Society, Germany's foremost institution for foundational research in the natural sciences and humanities. The MPISOC Research Paper Series mainly publishes contributions with a focus on legal topics, but it is also open to contributions from other social science and humanities disciplines. The papers represent the views of the respective authors and not of the Institute as a whole. They are published electronically and are available online or through email distribution.
