In cooperation with SINTEF, NTNU and The Norwegian Ferroalloy Producers Research Organization, the Materials Science Research Network (MatSciRN) is pleased to announce the International Ferro-Alloys Conference (INFACON XVI) 2021 eJournal. This eJournal is available to all subscribers at no charge and contains abstracts of the meeting papers with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

INFACON (International Ferroalloys Congress) was founded in South Africa in 1974 by the SAIMM (Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy), Mintek (then the National Institute for Metallurgy), and the Ferroalloys Producers' Association (FAPA) when the first INFACON was held in Johannesburg. The intention of INFACON is to stimulate technical interchange on all aspects of ferroalloy production. INFACON contributes to the exchange of research and development covering the major and most of the minor ferroalloys. INFACON XVI, 27-19th of September 2021 was a fully digital conference hosted by SINTEF, NTNU and FFF (The Norwegian Ferroalloy Producers Research Association), and organized in cooperation with the International Committee on Ferro-Alloys (ICFA). INFACON XVI gathered more than 300 delegates from around the globe under the conference slogan "CO2 free ferroalloy production" - in response to the global mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to meet climate change. Of the 100+ conference presentations, 89 peer reviewed conference papers are included in the conference proceedings.
