Full Time Tenure Stream - Assistant Professor in International Law

The Department of International Studies, Glendon College, York University invites applications for a tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2018.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates will have a PhD in International Law or a doctorate in Juridical Science (SJD) with specialization in international law. The ability to teach courses on peace and security, human rights, international law, and diplomacy is required. Qualified applicants must be fluent in English and French and able to teach in both languages in a multicultural context. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching, scholarly research, publication and eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in experiential education and experience in the use of new learning technologies and the ability to use innovative pedagogical methods. The appointee will be expected to teach undergraduate courses, teach and supervise graduate students, conduct research, carry out service responsibilities. Given Glendon's bilingual mandate, the selected candidate will also participate actively in College-wide service activities in both English and French.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All positions at York University are subject to budgetary approval.
