The Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications from candidates with a strong commitment to innovation and excellence in teaching and research as well as collegial interaction for a Limited Term Contract (LTC) on a bipartite basis at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.

ABOUT THE FACULTY OF LAW: The goal of TRU Law in our appointment process is to augment the existing staff's excellence in teaching and high quality research of international stature. Applicants with expertise in a broad range of legal fields will be considered. We invite applicants to describe how they can enrich our emphasis on practical experiential and skills-based learning approaches within our JD program. The successful applicant will be expected to teach and mentor law students, develop or sustain an existing research program and contribute to the further building of our new law school now in its 7th year of operation.

TRU Law offers a dynamic legal education located in the stunning natural beauty of British Columbia's Thompson Valley, in unceded Secwepemc territory. We offer a well-established curriculum taught by an outstanding group of legal academics with the benefit of state-of the-art facilities in an award winning new law school building that includes bright, modern classrooms and student study spaces. Candidates are required to submit a letter of application identifying their areas of interest in teaching and research, a detailed CV, law transcripts and the names of three academic referees.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must have a JD, LLB or equivalent degree, with one or more postgraduate degrees preferred. Significant experience as a legal practitioner can be recognized as an alternative to postgraduate legal education. The appointment is to teach in the 2017-18 academic year.
- Candidates must have a superior academic record and demonstrated record of, or a strong potential for, excellence in scholarly research and teaching. In addition, they should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty and to the University more generally.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: August 1, 2017 to July 31, 2018
