Academic Appointments - All Academic Ranks

The Faculty of Law at Western University is entering an exciting period of faculty renewal and growth. The Faculty invites applications for probationary (tenure-track) appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor or tenured appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. Applications from qualified applicants in all legal academic disciplines are welcome, and the Faculty has particular interest in growing its expertise in the areas of Business, Criminal, Property, Environmental, and Intellectual Property Law. Applicants must have a JD, LLB or equivalent degree, as well as a relevant advanced graduate degree or its equivalent.

Candidates may also be considered for Limited Term appointments, with rank to be determined by qualifications and experience.

The appointments are expected to commence July 1, 2018, although alternative starting dates may be arranged. The goal of Western Law’s appointment process is to attract candidates who share its commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and to providing law programs that are both innovative and rigorous.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates considered for a probationary appointment must have a superior academic record and a demonstrated record of, or a strong potential for, excellence in scholarly research and teaching. In addition, they should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty community and to the University more generally. Candidates considered for appointments with tenure must have an outstanding academic record with a strong record of publications in academic outlets and significant experience in teaching. JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful applicants will be expected to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate law students, establish a productive research program, and provide leadership in the Faculty of Law.
