The Berkeley Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law Working Papers Series is a project of the Berkeley Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law Study Group. The Study Group is a diverse group of scholars, activists, equality body legal professionals and private lawyers from six continents, working together in the emerging field of comparative equality and anti-discrimination law. The group holds video-conference workshops to help scholars develop their works in progress, sponsors annual meetings to discuss developments in the field, and edits this new (as of 01/01/2018) working papers series. To date, our annual meetings have been held in Paris, France (Sciences-Po, 2012); Berkeley, California (Berkeley Law, 2013); Brussels, Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles, 2014); Shanghai, China (Jiao Tong University, 2016); and Dublin, Ireland (Trinity College, Dublin, 2017). Future conferences are planned for the University of Melbourne (Australia) in 2018, and the University of Stockholm (Sweden) in 2019, and tentatively for the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 2020, the University of Michigan in 2021, and Hong Kong University in 2022. The working papers project features papers by our members and others interested in the field, including papers that compare different systems of equality/anti-discrimination law, and papers that would inform a person seeking to compare their own system of equality/anti-discrimination law with other legal/social systems. Over eighty of our members have volunteered to conduct peer reviews of papers submitted to the series. The Working Papers Series is funded by the Haas Institute for a Fair & Inclusive Society, the Miller Institute for Global Challenges and the Law, Kings College (London) School of Law, Hasselt University Faculty of Law, and the University of Paris I (Sorbonne-Pantheon).
