Job Description & Qualification

Description: The Department of Finance (FINN) at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, invites applications for one tenure-track position at the assistant professor level starting in the Fall of 2022. Candidates are expected to publish research in top-tier finance journals, teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute their service to the university. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of finance will be considered.

Required Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. in finance from a nationally or internationally accredited university prior to the beginning of their employment in the Fall of 2022.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who possess strong research records or the potential to publish in top-tier journals, are flexible to teach in multiple areas of finance, have the ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom, and value collegiality.

About the Organization

The Department of Finance at the Sam M. Walton College of Business has an active research-oriented Ph.D. program, a Master of Science in Finance program, a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management, and a BSBA major in Finance. The faculty in the Department of Finance have diverse research interests and publish in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
