Job Description & Qualification

Applications are invited for a non-tenured full-time faculty position (Full Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor – contract) in the area of Communication Management at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU). We are particularly interested in scholars whose research and teaching is at the intersection of Data, Design, and Communication domains related to SMU’s 2025 strategic priorities in digital transformation, sustainable living, and growth in Asia.

Successful candidates will be systems thinkers with strong academic teaching, research, and industry partnership experiences related to the digital economy in several of the following areas: digital media and the arts, human-computer interactions (HCI), gaming, artificial/virtual/mixed reality, artificial intelligence (AI), or related fields.

Importantly, we are looking for colleagues who are open to collaboration with the existing faculty of the Communication Management Group (such as applying for research grants to support the tackling of pressing management/social issues), whose research interests include behavioural science in management, HCI, and computational social sciences. The preferred start date is July 2022.

The successful candidate will teach postgraduate and undergraduate courses and produce high-impact scholarship.

Candidates must have an earned PhD in a field relevant to management, communication, digital media, cognitive sciences, computational social science, or behavioural science in management.
Consistent productivity of scholarship as reflected in top communication or business journals; a track record of excellent teaching of postgraduate, undergraduate students; a commitment to service, collegiality, and the advancement of knowledge.
