Job Description & Qualification

For those applying to join the University as an Assistant Professor, a doctorate in accounting from an AACSB accredited school by the employment start date is required, as well as an active research agenda with evidence of potential to publish in highly-ranked accounting journals. Additionally, recent teaching experience and expertise in any area of accounting at the undergraduate level will be considered (with a preference for tax, financial, or accounting information systems). Finally, collegiality, a strong interest in maintaining a well-respected accounting program, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity are required. Preferred qualifications include having manuscripts at advanced stages in the publication process at highly-ranked accounting journals.

Applicants seeking to join the University as an Associate or Full Professor must currently hold a similar rank with tenure at an AACSB-accredited school. Teaching and research expertise in any area of accounting will be considered (with a preference for tax, financial, or accounting information systems). Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited school and an active research agenda with a record that includes recent publications in highly-ranked accounting journals. Finally, collegiality, a strong interest in maintaining a well-respected accounting program, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity are required. In addition, applicants must demonstrate leadership experience, including the mentoring of junior faculty and development of relationships with the accounting profession.

To be considered for appointment, a candidate must have sufficient experience and qualifications to qualify for promotion according to University guidelines, including a demonstrated record of research of acceptable dimension that works toward distinction in scholarship.
