Candidates should be committed to completing your PhD degree in accounting, and should meet the requirements for the enrolment into the PhD program. You should also be committed to pursuing an academic career. You should be able to pursue your own independent research programme under the supervision of a team of experienced supervisors. You should have competence to assess and potentially deliver material at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invites applications for PhD in Accounting. The position combines enrolment into the full-time PhD Program in Accounting and teaching-related duties in academic programs offered by the Department. The purpose of the role is to undertake a PhD while gaining teaching-related experience. You will be working alongside world leading academics in a busy, exciting and innovative department. The Department offers a PhD Program in Accounting and Finance. PhD students are required to complete a portfolio of PhD level courses and seminars covering accounting and finance theory, econometric and statistical methods and research methodology. Upon successfully completing the course work, you will work on your research as a part of your PhD dissertation. You will also have the opportunity to gain international experience by visiting a leading US school with expertise in a relevant research area. SALARY: £22,017 to £25,482

CONTRACT TERMS: The position has a fixed duration of 5 years, and the candidates are expected to complete their PhD by the end of year 5.
