Job Description & Qualification

Role Statement:

• Contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels as required. Teaching duties include, but are not limited to, the preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials, course design, marking and assessment, and consultations with students.
• Undertake original research with a view to publication in quality national and international refereed journals.
• Present research at academic seminars, and national and international conferences, and collaborate with other academic staff in research projects.
• Contribute to the supervision of research students.
• Contribute to the activities of the School and participate in School governance. These contributions include, but are not limited to, attendance and participation in academic staff meetings and seminar presentations, and involvement in committees as required.
• Other duties as required consistent with the classification level.
• Comply with all ANU policies and procedures and, in particular, those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

1. Completion of a relevant PhD. Applicants nearing completion may be considered but any offer will be conditional on admission to their PhD.
2. Evidence of the ability to conduct high quality research in accounting or taxation with potential to publish in premier international journals.
3. A willingness to conduct research that complements the research programs in the School.
4. Ability for high quality teaching, including preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials and assessment, as evidenced by good oral and written English communication skills and teaching evaluations.
5. Ability to teach in Australian taxation law plus other courses taught in the School.
6. Ability to supervise honours and postgraduate research students.
7. Strong interpersonal skills.
8. Ability and willingness to contribute to School governance.
9. A demonstrated understanding of WHS and equal opportunity principles and policies, and a commitment to their application in a university context.
