Job Description & Qualification

Your tasks
• Creation, management and further development of the Max Planck Law websites
• Identification of suitable topics from the participating institutes
• Implementation of content (texts, pictures and videos) on the website
• Preparation of items for the regular updating of the homepage’s news section
• Editing of texts in terms of style, tone, and the use of relevant keywords for SEO
• Updating and maintenance of the Max Planck Law social media channels (Twitter, Facebook)
• Support in the creation of video and audio content
• Research in image databases, clarification of image rights, and photo / image processing
• Advising researchers on the optimal use of the website and social media channels
• Optimisation and further development of content with regard to visibility in search engines
(SEO), usability, and conversion rate optimization (CRO)
• Support of the Research coordinator in the coordination of Max Planck Law

Your profile
• A successfully completed degree (ideally in law, the humanities or social sciences) and proven
experience in the area of online journalism
• Experience in the development of web content and the use of social media
• Familiarity with content management systems (such as Fiona, Typo3, Drupal, WordPress)
• Practical experience in science communication and in writing texts on academic research
topics for the general public and for specific audiences
• Experience in research and in communicating with experts
• Knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO)

Our offer
We offer a varied and challenging position in an attractive and international work environment with a
good working atmosphere. The position is full-time (currently 39 hours / week). The position can in
principle be shared by two employees. Remuneration and social benefits are based on the German
Civil Service Collective Agreement (TVÖD Bund) EG 13, depending on the applicant’s qualifications
and experience. This position is initially limited to two years. A follow-up position is intended but
conditional on the positive evaluation of the development phase of the project.

About the Organization

Max Planck Law is a collaborative network of the eleven Max Planck Institutes conducting
fundamental research on legal issues, including their past and future developments, with a particular
focus on exploring comparative and transnational research questions. The aim of this newly
established network is to develop innovative approaches leading to excellent legal research and to
provide a framework for graduate training across all disciplines of legal studies for both doctoral
students and postdocs.
