Job Description & Qualification

Qualification requirements
In order to meet the general entry requirements, the applicant must have completed a second-cycle degree, completed courses equivalent to at least 240 higher education credits, of which 60 credits must be in the second cycle, or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or elsewhere. In addition, the applicant must have completed at least 90 credits in business administration or equivalent, with a finance major, including a master’s thesis of at least 15 credits.

The qualification requirements must be met by the application deadline.

Selection
The selection among the eligible candidates is based on the capacity to benefit from doctoral education. The following criteria are considered:
•Documented knowledge in the relevant field of research
•Written and oral proficiency in English
•The capacity for analytical, creative and critical thinking
•The ability to collaborate
•Independence.

The assessment of candidates focuses on previous experience and grades, the quality of the degree project, references, relevant experience, and the candidates’ written motivation for applying for the position. Short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews.

About the Organization

Stockholm Business School is one of the largest departments at the Faculty of Social Sciences with about 180 employees and 3,500 students. The teaching and research focuses on accounting, finance, management and marketing.

The PhD programme in business administration comprises four years of study (240 credits). It consists of courses (90 credits) and a dissertation (150 credits). These two parts can take place simultaneously, but typically the focus is on course work during the first half of the study period. The thesis is based on independent scientific research.
