Assistant Director for Global Legal Studies

Job Description & Qualification

The Assistant Director for Global Legal Studies will have primary responsibility for development of new student exchange programs and oversee all phases of the law school's existing study abroad programs (summer in Rome, semesters in Japan, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, and Switzerland, as well as individualized semesters) and LL.M. in Transnational Law. Develop a marketing plan for international LLM student (inbound) and JD study abroad (outbound) recruitment. The incumbent will provide career services to international LLM students. Actively identify and maintain current international student contacts in the CRM and follow up, as needed. Coordinate short-term training programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
JD degree and at least 1 year of directly related experience. Computer experience to include: Word, Email, Excel, PowerPoint presentations and Web communications. Overseas study or international work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to interact with others through both oral and written communications and be skilled at intercultural competency.
• Knowledge of CRM's and email marketing tools along with the ability to learn new technologies.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion.
• Ability to relate to international students and work closely with them through the process in a professional and courteous manner.
• Energetic presentation, strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to act as liaison to the Law School's Career Planning Office for international internships, providing occasional counseling to JD students regarding careers in international law.
• Possess business acumen and networking abilities to identify opportunities for program growth.
• Ability to travel both nationally and internationally and work nights and/or weekends, as necessary.

Preferred:
• Proficient in written and spoken Italian.
