About the Organization
The College of Business at Ohio University invites applications for the Muck Family Chair in Finance. The Muck Family Chair in Finance is a tenure-track position at the level of Senior Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. This position is in-person on campus in beautiful Athens, Ohio and is set to begin in August 16, 2024. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Finance or equivalent degree in finance from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. About the Muck Family Chair in Finance
The candidate will serve as the Assistant Director of the Menard Family George Washington Forum, whose responsibilities will include providing administrative and programming assistance to the Forum’s director. The Muck Family Chair in Finance will receive travel support for academic conferences as well as summer research support. The teaching load will be reduced until tenure and promotion, after which the teaching load will be 2/3 for research-active faculty in the College of Business.
About the Finance Department
The Finance Department offers excellent research resources and support in addition to a variety of teaching opportunities. Ohio University has WRDS access to CRSP, Compustat, OptionMetrics, and Execucomp as well as access to Thomson Reuters Analyst Reports, Bloomberg, and Factset. Our faculty has published in Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Review of Asset Pricing Studies, Financial Management, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Financial Analysts Journal. New hires will receive travel support for academic conferences as well as summer research support. The typical class size is 35. Normally, the contracts for Tenure Track will be a nine month, renewable contract for a term of one-year during the probationary period.
