Definite Term Lecturer, Finance or Accounting

The School of Accounting and Finance, in the Faculty of Arts, at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a Lecturer in Accounting or Finance, for a two- year definite term contract renewable in accordance with university policy.

The successful candidate will allocate 40-60% of their time to teaching in the School’s undergraduate and graduate programs and 40-60% of their time supporting and developing Cooperative Education strategic priorities and objectives for the School of Accounting and Finance.

Candidates must have a university degree in a business-related field, along with significant work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field. The Lecturer will work with a team of professionals to maintain and cultivate high quality coop positions, proactively build and maintain relationships with key employers (including serving as a primary point of contact for various cooperative education stakeholders) and provide student support and advising regarding cooperative education and career opportunities. While not required, a professional designation in accounting or finance would also be an asset.

The expected start date for the position is July 1, 2023. Starting compensation in the range of $110,000.00 to $140,000.00 is anticipated, based on qualifications and experience. Negotiations beyond this range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
