Assistant Professor of Finance-Clinical

Job Description & Qualification

The Department of Finance at The Ohio State University, Max M. Fisher College of Business plans to fill one clinical non-tenure track faculty position in finance with appointment beginning as soon as Autumn 2023 or when feasible. Rank is open.

Clinical faculty are primarily engaged in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, providing service to the department and college, and interacting with and developing relationships in the finance industry. Clinical faculty positions within the Fisher College of Business are not tenure-track and not eligible for tenure; employment is on a fixed-term, multi-year, renewable contract. Clinical faculty normally have earned a Ph.D. in finance, economics or a related field, or have a Master’s degree in one of those fields plus significant industry experience. Duties and responsibilities are assigned by the department chair in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the Pattern of Administration of the Fisher College of Business. The annual teaching load for clinical faculty is the equivalent of 7 semester-length courses.

Title and compensation will be based on the candidate’s credentials and experience. A strong candidate will have an extensive record of high-quality teaching in variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, with flexibility in delivering courses via in-person, hybrid, and distance learning. A prior record of teaching such as International Finance, Financial Institutions, including banking and insurance, FinTech, is preferred as well as extensive experience teaching online courses.
