Job Description & Qualification

Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University invites applications for three Desautels Chairs, endowed professorships created to attract senior world-class scholars expected to make a major contribution to teaching, research, and administrative leadership in the Faculty at the rank of Full or Associate Professor. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in teaching and research related to sustainability; entrepreneurship and innovation; data analytics, AI and advanced digital technologies; and equity, diversity, and inclusion. All areas of management will be considered. The start date for the positions is August 1, 2023.

Chairholders are expected to take a leadership role in creating a shared vision for impactful research; setting research goals and developing and implementing research plans; setting pedagogical objectives and updating curricular programs; fostering scholarly activity and mentoring junior faculty members; attracting external funding and engaging external networks; and, in general, being an advocate for the Faculty’s interests. They will also take an active role in mentoring and educating students in support of the Faculty’s research and teaching endeavours at all levels (undergraduate, Masters and PhD).

Qualifications: Successful candidates must be tenured professors in any field of management (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour, Strategy) or a related field (economics, sociology, psychology). Preference will be given to those who are Full Professors, though senior Associate Professors will also be considered. Applicants should be recognized world-class experts – both in terms of research and teaching.
