Job Description & Qualification
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include strategic planning and implementation; managing academic unit operations; overseeing the curriculum development process; course scheduling; budget management; recruitment and mentorship of full-time and adjunct faculty; evaluation of faculty and staff performance; implementing university, college, and department policies; facilitating faculty and student engagement with the activities of the unit; overseeing accreditation compliance, including faculty sufficiency and qualifications; coordination of assurance of learning with CoB assessment officer; recruitment and promotion of degree programs to prospective students; administration of department scholarships; teaching courses aligned with the area(s) of expertise; sustained maintenance of academic scholarship; collaboration with units throughout college and university; fundraising support; directing advisory board(s); and additional duties as assigned by the Dean.
Required Qualifications
Qualifying degrees:
• Earned doctorate in business administration from an AACSB – accredited institution, with a concentration in finance; or
• Ph.D. in finance
• Excellence in scholarship evidenced by publication record commensurate with appointment at the associate or full professor level in the Department of Finance & Economics.
• Also possess a record of successful teaching and service and experience with administrative duties within the College of Business.
Preferred Qualifications
• Currently hold the rank of professor or have at least five years’ experience at the rank of associate professor.
• Distinguished record of research, teaching, and service at an AACSB-accredited business school.
• Demonstrated experience creating a collaborative culture and collegial work environment within an academic unit.
• Experience mentoring junior faculty and supporting faculty development.
• Interest in working with local business community and advisory boards in developing curriculum and creating job opportunities for students.
• Experience designing and implementing innovative undergraduate and graduate programs that are delivered in a traditional, hybrid, and online environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
