Job Description & Qualification

The AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration at Winthrop University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Finance position to begin in August 2023. Winthrop University, located in the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan region, is a liberal arts, masters-granting state university. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to student learning and development, and the ability to establish an independent research program that leads to high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. This 9-month tenure-track faculty position with a rank of Assistant Professor requires a Ph.D. in Finance or Financial Planning (ABDs will be considered). The standard teaching load is three courses (9 credit hours) per semester. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is identified. The position is pending budget availability.

Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Finance or Financial Planning (ABDs will be considered).
• Candidates with a CFA or CFP certification are preferred.
• Ability to teach in multiple areas, such as financial planning, corporate finance, and investments. Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels is preferred.
• Evidence of research potential and willingness to provide service.
• Ability to engage effectively with a diverse student body.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with a diverse group of students, faculty, alumni, and the local business community.
