FACULTY POSITION IN FINANCE AT CATÓLICA-LISBON, PORTUGAL

Job Description & Qualification

Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics (CATÓLICA-LISBON: www.clsbe.lisboa.ucp.pt/) invites applications for a position in Finance, to start September 1, 2023. All levels of seniority will be considered. We are looking for applicants with strong research potential or track record of top publications in Finance. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position Requirements
All applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognized school by the date of the appointment.

Tenure-track faculty are expected to maintain a research pipeline targeted at top-tier journals in their field. Católica-Lisbon offers ample research conditions, providing funding for research-related activities, such as travel to international conferences and co-authors’ visits, and access to main databases. In addition, faculty are supported to apply for research funding from the Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT) and other European funding agencies.

Candidates for associate positions are expected to show a strong research track record in top-tier finance journals, excellence in teaching, and the ability to contribute to the research reputation and productivity of the group.

Candidates must be motivated to engage with students in the classroom. Both tenure-track and tenured positions involve teaching the equivalent of 3 courses per year, in English, at the undergraduate, MSc, and/or MBA levels, and potentially in executive education programs. The teaching load may be clustered and reduced additionally in the first year.
