Job Description & Qualification

The University of Zurich is seeking applications for a

Professorship of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law and International Criminal Law or Economic Criminal Law

to be filled with effect from 1 August 2023 or upon agreement.

We are looking for an individual with a research focus on either international criminal law (international criminal law, European criminal law, or mutual legal assistance law) or on (substantive or procedural) commercial criminal law. Proof of qualification must be provided in the form of an outstanding dissertation and, for candidates applying for a professorship or an associate professorship, a habilitation or equivalent academic achievement.

The position is advertised as open rank (full professorship, associate professorship or assistant professorship with tenure track), and the percentage of employment can be varied. The position(s) will be offered to one or more applicant(s) to make up a full-time (100%) role.

The professorship forms part of the Criminal Law subject group. Applicants must be able to teach Swiss criminal law and criminal procedure law in German. In addition, at least a passive command of French is required, and candidates must be able to teach their main subject in English.
