PhD student for 3-5 years (law and management)

Job Description & Qualification

The HEC PhD program is a full-time program that prepares students for a career in research and academia. 88% of its graduates enter the academic market, be it in North America, Asia, Oceania and the UK/EU. The school awards a PhD in Management with specialization in law and regulation. We encourage applications aiming at legal research in fields related to management in the widest sense.

The PhD of legal specialization foresees two alternative PhD tracks: a 3-year doctoral studies phase. In year one, students are required to take 100 hours of courses choosing from a wide range of legal and non-legal courses. They also work on their research paper-based dissertation as from year one. They are encouraged to present their research projects at national and international academic conferences. As alternative to the three-years track, we offer one spot in HEC’s regular 5-years PhD studies integrating a Master of Research. (

Admission to the HEC PhD Program is very selective. As a result, we commit to offering our students the conditions under which they can do their research at the highest academic level. This includes financing cost of living scholarship and full tuition waiver as well as financial support for conference presentations, research visiting positions, job market events and ad-hoc funding for research projects.
