Dean of Law and Head of the Sutherland School of Law, UCD Sutherland School of Law, Permanent

University College Dublin invites applications for the position of Dean/Head of School of the Sutherland School of Law from interested individuals with diverse perspectives and backgrounds. This is a permanent full-time leadership post and the successful candidate will grow the teaching, research and international engagement of the school. They will not only shape and contribute to the long term future of the UCD Sutherland School of Law, they will lead Ireland’s premier law school. Reporting directly to the Principal of the College of Social Science and Law, the Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer for the Sutherland School of Law. The Dean is responsible for administering the School's undergraduate and graduate programmes, developing and implementing strategies to enhance academic innovation and quality, recruiting students and members of the faculty and staff, and managing organisational and financial structures that promote excellence in teaching, research and public service.

Appointment as Dean/Head of School will be made at permanent Professor or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Dean / Head of School role for a minimum of three years from the date of appointment. Upon successful completion of their term as Dean/Head of School, the successful candidate will continue to play a senior leadership role within the School as a Professor or Full Professor.

Salary: 95 Professor Salary scale: €90,305 - €120,704 per annum Or 95 Full Professor Salary scale: €124,586- €157,628 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
