The symposium will focus on highlighting student research on the dynamics governing financial markets and their implications for financial stability. The topics covered will include:

• Financial markets
• Interconnectedness of financial institutions and contagion risk
• Risk management

The deadline for submissions is August 26, 2020. Please send completed papers by email to and include “PHD SYMPOSIUM” in the subject line. Notification of acceptance will be provided by the end of September. Attendees will have their travel and lodging covered by the OFR. They will arrive the night before and depart the evening that the symposium concludes.

While the symposium is currently scheduled to take place in person in DC, there is a possibility that it will be conducted virtually, depending on the state of the COVID-19 pandemic.
