Research Proposals from the Canadian Derivatives Institute

Description

The Canadian Derivatives Institute (CDI) is launching its ninth call for tender to solicit research projects in the fields of derivatives pricing, risk management, market regulation, clearing, accounting, and financial innovation (that list of topics is not exhaustive).
The projects previously selected as well as relevant information about the CDI can be viewed at www.cdi-icd.org.
The total amount earmarked for the 2020 call is 150,000 CAD. Funded proposals should be completed within 18 months. Acceptance of the funding implies:
• providing the CDI with a document that will be published in the working paper series,

• delegating at least one member of the research team to come to Montreal to present the findings during a seminar (this condition will be waived for small-size projects),

• acknowledging the CDI financial support in publications and presentations related to the project.
Preference will be given to researchers who commit to collaborating with Montreal-based partners including financial institutions, local regulatory authorities, and/or the Montreal derivatives exchange. Additional financing and office space could be provided for researchers choosing to work in Montreal.
Researchers with a keen interest to apply should send their research proposal (maximum 5 pages including a budget) along with their vitae to cdi-icd@hec.ca. Only electronic submissions will be considered.
Deadline for submission is September 30, 2020.
