Description

The Business School of The University of Western Australia is delighted to invite academics and practitioners to the 3rd UWA Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Conference.
This two-day event seeks to bring together academics conducting financial and economic research in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. We also encourage researchers on blockchain from other fields to submit their work.
The conference is intended to improve research in progress, generate new research and facilitate new collaborations.

We invite researchers to submit their work on financial, economic, accounting, regulatory, monetary, societal, social and environmental aspects of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

We are particularly interested in cross-disciplinary and innovative research or research ideas.

• Is the blockchain technology disrupting finance?
• Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) versus IPOs
• The economics of blockchain
• Value Creation via tokenisation
• The nature of the firm in the age of blockchain and smart contracts

Cryptocurrencies
• Fiat currencies versus cryptocurrencies and monetary policy implications
• Fiat cryptocurrencies
• Optimal strategies and policies to regulate cryptocurrencies

• Decentralised cryptocurrencies versus centralised exchanges
• Scams and manipulation

Publication Opportunity - Special Issue
Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit their research to a Special Issue in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management.

The submissions will go through the normal peer review process (submission deadline: Monday 31 August 2020). The APC (Article Processing Charge) will be waived for up to five papers.

Conference paper submission procedure
Papers should be submitted via email to liliana.goncalves@uwa.edu.au in PDF format before Friday 15 May 2020. Acceptance emails will be sent out before Monday 1 June.
