Prize announcement and call for submissions

Submission deadline: 3 March 2019

The Centre for Endowment Asset Management (CEAM), with the support of FTSE Russell, is awarding a prize for high-quality and innovative investment-related research being undertaken by junior scholars globally.

Five finalists will be invited to present their paper at the 2019 European Investment Forum taking place in Cambridge between 28-29 April 2019. Two winners - for best paper and best presentation - will be selected at the Forum and awarded a cash prize of USD 1000 each.

Nominations should be submitted online at: www.jbs.cam.ac.uk/eif-callforpapers. The submission process is simple and only takes a few minutes.

RESEARCH TOPICS
Priority will be given to research excellence, novel insights, and applicability. Potential topics include fund management, factor investing, index design, ESG exposure, performance measurement, active-passive management, robo-advice, risk control, and alternative assets. Submissions are strongly encouraged on topics with relevance for institutional investors and long-horizon asset owners.

ELIGIBILITY
Authors submitting research papers should be PhD students or recent graduates who are within three years of the completion of their PhD.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
The paper being submitted must be on SSRN (it can be private and hidden from search engines), and a link must be provided for the presenter’s CV.

APPLICATION DEADLINE AND TIMETABLE
The closing date for submissions is 3 March 2019. Five finalists will be selected and notified by 25 March 2019. Selected finalists are required to be available to present their research at the 2019 European Investment Forum taking place at the University of Cambridge on 28-29 April 2019 (www.europeaninvestmentforum.org/2019). The presentation should take the format of a 10 minute “TED talk”. Travel grants and accommodation will be provided to each of the finalists.
