The University of Chicago Coase-Sandor Institute for Law and Economics under the direction of Professor Omri Ben-Shahar will host its 8th Summer Institute in Law and Economics (https://www.law.uchicago.edu/lawecon/summerinstitute) from July 08 to 19, 2019.

The Summer Institute will focus on the regulation of consumer markers through four topics:
- Economic Analysis of Consumer Protection Law (Omri Ben-Shahar),
- Property and Markets (Lee A. Fennell),
- Behavioral Law and Economics of Consumer Choice (Jonathan Masur), and
- Law, Technology, and Competition (Randy Picker).

The Summer Institute in Law and Economics is designed as an opportunity for international scholars and faculty to gather for two weeks of intensive course work and discussion. The program is intended for international legal scholars from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. Professors, assistant professors, lecturers, advanced PhD & postdoctoral fellows, policy makers, lawyers, and judges are encouraged to apply. There is also an opportunity for researchers in economics, law, management and related fields present a work-in-progress paper at the Colloquia. The Summer Institute will feature four intensive one-week courses taught by faculty from the University of Chicago Law School, along with three to four distinguished guest lecturers, a Colloquia for select participants, and a host of opportunities to engage and build your academic network for future collaboration.

The University of Chicago Coase-Sandor Summer Institute will be held at the University of Chicago Law School in Chicago. Participation is by application. There are limited scholarship opportunities available.
