Third Annual Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition


Georgia State University and the Southeastern Hedge Fund Association (SEHFA) invite submissions to the Third Annual Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition.  Teams of students will submit hedge fund investment strategy proposals to be evaluated by a panel of investment professionals.  Five finalist teams will be invited to Atlanta to present their proposals.  We anticipate scholarship prizes of $10,000 for the first place team, $5,000 for the second place team, and $3,000 for the third place team.  In addition, all members of submitting teams will have their resumes forwarded to participating hedge funds.  More information is available at   
-Declaration of Faculty Coordinator: February 1st, 2019 
-Submissions Due: March 1st, 2019 
-Notification of Finalists: March 26th, 2019 
-Final Competition: April 25th, 2019 at 5 PM in Atlanta 
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Teams can submit their proposals through the competition website,, by 11:59 PM EST on March 1st, 2019.  Teams are asked to submit a pdf file describing the proposed investment strategy.  Submissions must be “blind,” meaning that the submission file must not indicate or hint at the submitting team’s school affiliation or team member names.  Identifying information will be entered into a form on the submission page.  Guidance on preparing submissions is available on the competition website, 
FACULTY COORDINATOR: Each participating school is asked to select a faculty coordinator.  Schools are asked to notify the competition organizers of who will serve as faculty coordinator by February 1st, 2019.  Notification can be done by emailing Scott Murray ( or Vikas Agarwal (  Because the competition will accept only two submissions from each university, should more than two teams from a given university want to enter the competition, the faculty coordinator will determine the two teams that will submit to the competition.
