Conference on Social and Sustainable Finance

We are pleased to announce the Conference on “Social and Sustainable Finance: Bridging Methods, Policy and Practice”, which will take place on 23-24 June 2025 at Brunel University of London.
The conference seeks to foster discussions on cutting-edge research in social and sustainable finance, addressing the role of financial systems in tackling societal and environmental challenges. We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
The role of financial instruments and markets in promoting environmental sustainability and social equity.
Modelling and managing risks, including climate and social risks, in financial decision-making.
Macroeconomic and policy dimensions of sustainable finance, including fiscal, monetary, and regulatory frameworks.
Innovations in finance to address global challenges, such as climate resilience and financial inclusion.
Submissions that adopt interdisciplinary approaches, introduce innovative methodologies, or emphasize practical applications are particularly encouraged.
The keynote speakers are George Kapetanios (King’s College London), Steven Ongena (University of Zurich), and Hashem Pesaran (University of Cambridge). The conference organisers are Stylianos Asimakopoulos (Brunel University of London), Manthos Delis (Audencia Business School) and Vasilis Sarafidis, Brunel University of London.
Papers presented at the conference will be considered for a Special Issue of the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking (JMCB), with the Editor being Luc Laeven (ECB). Submission fees to JMCB will be waived for invited papers.
To submit a paper for the conference, please email your manuscript to SSF25Brunel@gmail.com along with receipt of a submission fee of £40. When submitting, please indicate the person who will attend and present the paper and whether the paper should be considered for the Special Issue in JMCB. The conference registration fee is £350, and is payable upon registration.
