The Bank of Canada, in partnership with Deutsche Bundesbank, will host the 3rd edition of the International Conference on Payments and Securities Settlement on June 12 and 13, 2025 at its head office in Ottawa.
About the conference:
This conference aims to bring together academic and central bank researchers, policymakers and practitioners to discuss the latest economic research focused on the developments, challenges and opportunities in payments and securities settlement.
Call for papers:
Topics of interest for the conference include:
- Issues and trends in cross-border payments
- Tools for detecting and mitigating fraud and cyber risks in payment systems
- Risk analysis and participant behaviour in financial market infrastructures
- Opportunities and challenges due to alternative payment instruments and systems
- Innovations in settlement systems and the evolving role of financial intermediaries
- Payments data insights, privacy preservation and fostering competition
- Insights from using new empirical methods on payments and settlement data
- Safety and efficiency of real-time gross settlement systems
- Limited travel support is available for academic speakers at the conference.
Submission process:
Interested authors are invited to E-mail their papers to ICPSS_2025@bank-banque-canada.ca. Extended abstracts will also be considered.
Deadlines:
Deadline for paper submission is March 9, 2025.
Authors of accepted papers will be notified by April 15, 2025.
