Description

The Finance Area of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan is pleased to host the 38th Mitsui Finance Symposium on June 12-13, 2025, in Ann Arbor, MI.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW: The symposium intends to focus on innovative research on the evolving landscape of financial intermediation. We invite contributions that explore a wide range of topics, including the role of data and AI in financial services, bank liquidity and risk management, and the financial implications of climate considerations. Empirical and theoretical papers on these, as well as related topics, are most welcome. We especially encourage the submission of preliminary papers.

FULL PARTICIPATION: As we highly value active audience participation, all participants are expected to stay during the entire conference. This has been the norm at past Mitsui symposiums and is encouraged again this year. The symposium begins with a reception on Wednesday evening, June 11, and ends with lunch on Friday, June 13, 2025. There will be a reception and dinner at Michigan Stadium on Thursday, June 12.
The Mitsui Life Financial Research Center will offer partial travel reimbursements to all presenters and discussants.

KEYNOTE ADDRESS: The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Viral Acharya, C.V. Starr Professor of Economics in the Department of Finance at New York University Stern School of Business.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS: Submissions of unpublished papers in PDF format can be made via the conference website: https://myumi.ch/bEpp3. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm U.S. EDT, March 15, 2025, and authors of accepted papers will be notified by April 11, 2025.
