Call for Papers: Spring 2025 Labor and Finance Group Conference
The AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work Initiative at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University is pleased to announce the Spring 2025 Labor and Finance Group Conference, to be held on April 11-12, 2025. The conference aims to bring together researchers focused on topics at the intersection of Finance and Labor Economics to present new research and exchange ideas.
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
• The role of firms in determining wages, employment, and other labor market outcomes
• Regulation and its effect on firms and workers
• Household financial decision‐making
• Effects of finance on employee outcomes
• Financial frictions and labor market participation
• Financing of human capital investment
• Dynamics of labor and financial markets
• Adoption of AI and Technology and their effects on labor markets
The conference is organized by Janet Gao (janet.gao@georgetown.edu).
Program committee:

Submissions of original research papers are welcome from scholars at all levels of experience, including PhD students. The conference also includes a session for short presentations. You are welcome to submit early-stage work for that session.
Submission: Please submit working papers on this website (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1TQuWr4al_x8IpQepR9PAEe4bv7BTIReV758AmSM1rQc/edit?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0) by 11:59pm, January 20, 2025. Notifications of paper acceptance will be sent out by mid- or late-February, 2025.
Logistical details:
1. The conference will begin around 9:00am on April 11 and end at lunch time on April 12.
2. The conference will be held on Georgetown University’s campus in Washington DC.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and refreshments will be provided. Conference attendees will be responsible for their own flights and accommodation. We will send hotel recommendations, including possible discounted hotel rates.
