Description

The International Banking, Economics, and Finance Association (IBEFA) will hold its next Summer Meeting in San Francisco, California, in conjunction with the 100th Annual Western Economic Association International (WEAI) Conference, on June 20-24, 2025, at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel. The meeting will be held in person only.

Submission Deadline: January 15, 2025

IBEFA seeks paper submissions that contribute to its goals of advancing the study of banking, economic, and financial issues. We encourage the submission of papers on topics including (but not limited to) financial intermediation; securitization and shadow banking; financial risk measurement and management; financial stability and macroprudential policies; climate finance; payments systems; household finance; financial market structure and regulation; monetary policy; financial intermediation and global fragmentation; and FinTech.

The suggestion of complete sessions on policy-relevant topics is also strongly encouraged. In that case, sessions should consist of 3-4 papers and include discussants. Session chairs should send session proposals by e-mail (chair, presenting authors, paper titles, and discussants; include full names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses). Presenting authors should submit their papers individually following the instructions below.

Paper submission procedure:

To submit an individual paper or a paper that is part of a session, please begin by registering at the conference planning website (https://www.conftool.pro/ibefa-weai2025/). This link can also be reached via the “Call for Papers – WEAI” heading on the IBEFA website (https://ibefa.org/). Enter all requested contact information for all authors. If you experience any submission difficulty and to submit complete sessions, please email us at ibefa.conferences@gmail.com. We aim to inform authors of accepted papers in early March 2025.

Additional Information:

There is a paper submission fee of US$75 per paper (US$50 for papers solely authored by PhD. students) to be paid via the ConfToolPro conference website. Only submissions for which the submission fee has been paid will be considered for review. The presenting author of an accepted paper must also register for the WEAI Conference. Registration is available at the WEAI member rate: US$195 for members (increases to US$225 after April 15 and US$275 after May 15, 2025); US$95 for student members (increases to US$125 after May 15, 2025). Program participants must register by April 1, 2025, to remain on the conference program. For more information, see https://www.weai.org/events/100th-annual-conference.

Feedback and active participation are crucial to the success of this meeting. Therefore, presenting authors might be invited to discuss a paper as well.
