CALL FOR PAPERS

3rd Annual Conference on Market-Based Solutions for Reducing Wealth Inequality

Chapel Hill, North Carolina, April 10-11, 2025

Organized by the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

In recent years, the urgency of addressing wealth inequality and fostering inclusive economic growth has become evident. While policy changes, such as tax reforms, have been a primary focus in reducing wealth disparities, opportunities for economic advancement within lower wealth communities can also stem from market-driven initiatives. The business sector, for example in the fintech and telehealth domains, has harnessed innovation to serve marginalized communities, yielding both profitability and improved well-being.

Researchers at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise are organizing the 3rd Annual Conference on Market-Based Solutions for Reducing Wealth Inequality to explore what the business sector has done so far and could do in the future to spur inclusive economic growth, as well as the challenges brought forth by these market-based endeavors. This event will convene leading academics and private sector representatives. The upcoming conference is scheduled for April 10-11, 2025 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
