PhD Program in Accounting - HEC Montréal

Description

Call for Applications,

HEC Montréal, a school recognized worldwide for its advancement of scientific knowledge, excellence in teaching and research since 1907, invites you to submit your candidacy to our PhD program in accounting.

Our PhD program in accounting offers a unique and exceptional environment. The PhD program is offered jointly with the city’s three other universities (McGill, Concordia, and Université du Québec à Montréal). This partnership and the very close relationships between the universities give the student an access to resources (faculty and courses) rarely available elsewhere in the world.

We have a large and highly diverse faculty which in turns exposes the student to various research topics (e.g., financial accounting, management accounting, management control, corporate governance, audit, corporate social responsibility, gender research, and tax) and various research methods (e.g., empirical research using archival data, empirical research using survey data, qualitative research). Moreover, in recent years, our faculty consistently publishes extensively in top accounting and management journals such as the Accounting Review, Strategic Management Journal; Accounting, Organizations and Society; Journal of Accounting Research; Journal of Business Ethics; Organization Studies and Contemporary Accounting Research. In addition, our faculty is actively involved with the accounting profession, academic associations and the journals. With the depth and breadth of our faculty, we strongly believe that you will find a supervisor that will align with your research interests.

In terms of financial support, all accounting students are guaranteed annual funding and exemption of tuition fees over a four-year period.

The application deadline for the fall 2023 is January 1st, 2023. Please visit the PhD Program admission website:
