International Conference on Sustainable Finance and Green Fintech

Conference dates

23 Feb 2023 - 24 Feb 2023

Location

Intercontinental hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud St, Al Bateen.

Description

Conference Theme:
The need for sustainable finance to reach net-zero by 2050 to mitigate the effects of climate change is a pressing critical problem which requires a global response if we are to be successful. This international conference will bring together leading academics, policymakers, and regulators to evaluate current issues affecting and shaping the evolution of the broad financial services sector, focusing on sustainable finance and emerging issues in Green Fintech. We invite substantial, original, unpublished research submissions in this area. Green fintech goes well beyond ‘clean’ cryptocurrencies and includes all fintech applications that can demonstrate relevance and impact on achieving the financial aspects of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Journal Publication Opportunities:
The best submissions will have the option to be published in a Special Issue of Finance Research Letters (2021 Impact Factor: 9.848 Scopus Q1: 97th Percentile) and the International Review of Economics and Finance (2021 Impact Factor: 3.399 Scopus Q1: 79th Percentile). Authors who wish their paper to be considered for either of the two special issues need to indicate during the conference submission process that they opt for dual submission, i.e., conference and journal. After the conference, the authors will be notified and given detailed instructions on submitting papers to the special issues. Papers submitted will not be subject to submission fees but will go through the usual review process per each journal’s guidelines.

Keynote Speaker(s):
Theme: Challenges facing Green Fintech ACADEMIC: Professor Andrew Urquhart, Professor of Finance and Fintech, International Capital Markets Association (ICMA) Center, Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK.

Meet the Editors:
AIM: An open forum discussion with Professor Brian Lucey, Editor in Chief International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, and Professor Samuel Vigne, Editor in Chief Finance Research Letters, on why papers get rejected, publication dilemmas, and common errors in research papers. Driven by audience questions, they will provide answers that will assist in getting to and through the review stage. This should be of particular benefit to Ph.D. students and more junior researchers, but all are welcome.
