Call for Papers

The 25th annual Australian Summer Accounting Conference will be held at the University of Technology Sydney on 09-10 February 2023. The 2023 Summer Accounting Conference will comprise a key-note address and 7 paper presentations, concluding at lunch time on Friday February 10. The key note speaker for 2023 will be Professor Peter Easton (University of Notre Dame). Each paper presentation will be followed by an invited discussant. The conference regularly attracts leading accounting researchers from around the world, and presenters include faculty from leading institutions in North America, Europe and Asia. The Accounting Discipline Group at UTS is committed to ensuring that the Australian Summer Accounting Conference continues as the premier event of its type in the Australasian region.

Those interested in presenting a paper are encouraged to submit their work as soon as possible, but no later than November 15, 2022. Authors of selected papers will be advised no later than 25 November 2022. Papers are invited in any area of accounting, although for 2023, and in line with the key-note presentation, papers with an ESG focus are especially welcome. Early submissions are encouraged.

The UTS Accounting Discipline Group will provide some financial support for presenters of selected papers. This support will typically include three nights’ accommodation and a contribution towards travel costs. In addition, a prize of $3000 AUD will be awarded for the best paper presented at the conference, and a prize of $2000 AUD will be awarded for the best discussant. Prizes will be determined by a vote of attendees.
