Colorado Finance Summit 2022 - Call for Papers

Conference dates

14 Dec 2022 - 17 Dec 2022

Location

Vail, CO

Description

We are pleased to invite submissions from all areas of finance to be considered for presentation at the Colorado Finance Summit 2022. We encourage both theoretical and empirical contributions. We favor early work that has not appeared at other conferences. The final program will consist of 8 to 10 papers, plus a session with presentations by current (2022-2023) job market candidates. At the end of the conference, we will present an award for best paper presentation by a job candidate, as well as an award for the best paper on the regular program.

The conference will be held in person at the Hythe Vail, beginning with a reception on the evening of December 14th and ending after the morning session on December 17th. Invited attendees will have ample opportunity to explore Vail, and its outdoor opportunities.

DEADLINES: The deadline for regular submissions is August 31st, 2022 at 11:59pm MT. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by mid to late October. The deadline for PhD nominations is October 15th, 2022 at 11:59pm MT. Accepted PhD candidates will be notified in the first week of November.

SUBMISSIONS: Submissions to the regular program should be submitted via the submission portal (https://forms.gle/fwG9uQBaamVT52Wm9). For each submission to be considered, a fee of $95 must be paid via the payment portal (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/colorado-finance-summit-2022-submission-tickets-391269255877). Please include the confirmation number for your payment in the submission form.

JOB MARKET SESSION: The job market session will be selected based on nominations of faculty.
• NOMINATING FACULTY: To nominate a 2022-2023 job candidate, send us an email at winterfinance@colorado.edu with the following information: (i) a recommendation letter for the job market candidate (if you have already drafted such a letter for the upcoming job market, it is sufficient to attach that letter); (ii) contact information and affiliation of the job market candidate.
• NOMINATED JOB CANDIDATES: Send a short letter of application to winterfinance@colorado.edu including the following: (i) a pdf of the paper to be presented; (ii) an up-to-date curriculum vitae; (iii) contact information and affiliation of your nominating faculty member.

INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS: If you wish to attend the conference, but do not wish to submit a paper, send us a message to convey your interest. We appreciate it if you let us know well in advance to help with the planning.

COVID POLICY: CU requires vaccination or exemption for all staff and faculty.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: In late October, we will contact invited participants with more detail on the program and how to register for the conference. We will provide a travel honorarium and waive the registration fee for each of the presenting job market candidates.

CONFERENCE AWARDS: The Burridge Center for Finance is sponsoring two best paper awards for papers presented at the conference: best regular program paper ($1000) and best PhD program paper ($1000). The Burridge Center for Finance is also sponsoring the best discussant award ($1000). At the conclusion of the conference, we will present these awards based on the votes of the conference participants.
