Founders Chair in Entrepreneurial Finance and Venture Capital (Fall, 2018)

The Department of Finance in the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) is seeking qualified applicants for the Founders Chair in Entrepreneurial Finance and Venture Capital. This position is supported in part by a new $2 million endowment. Candidates will be considered at the full, associate, or late assistant professor ranks.

JOB DESCRIPTION: To teach entrepreneurial finance and venture capital courses and to perform duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Finance. The normal teaching load for this position for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 (6 credit hours per each semester, Fall and Spring).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for this position, the applicant must have an earned doctorate degree in finance from an AACSB accredited or well-regarded business program and a distinguished record of teaching and research in entrepreneurial finance with an ongoing research agenda aimed at high-quality publications in top-level journals.

Salary for this position is competitive while the cost of living in Oxford is particularly low (e.g., approximately 40% lower than the Washington, DC area). Faculty have the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability. This endowed position also provides a substantial annual research budget.
